Pack N Move Renewable Energy provides solar engineering consultancy from the UK, focused on the thermal side of the industry: concentrated solar power plants, parabolic trough systems, and the operational questions that decide whether those assets perform. Most of the UK's solar consultancy market is built around photovoltaics and project development. Our background is different — plants that already exist, with mirrors to keep aligned, heat-transfer loops to keep healthy, and availability targets to hit.
We advise operators, public sector authorities, and private projects, across both the UK and international markets.
What we advise on
- Technical assessment — a structured review of plant condition, operational requirements, and the technical challenges holding performance back.
- Performance evaluation — where output is actually being lost: solar field availability, soiling and tracking losses, HTF condition, power block start-up behaviour.
- Maintenance programme review — whether the balance of preventive, condition-based, and corrective work matches equipment criticality, and what the maintenance record says should change.
- Spares and obsolescence strategy — which components to register, stock, or re-source before a discontinued line becomes an outage.
- Equipment specification and procurement support — defining what a plant needs and sourcing it, as we did for NREA's mirror-cleaning fleet.
Evidence over brochures
The clearest example of how we work is our first delivered project. Egypt's New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) was cleaning its concentrated solar collectors with an ageing, improvised vehicle. We specified a purpose-built replacement — a Fermupe / Masesur cleaning system on a JCB Fastrac 4160 — sourced it from Spain, and delivered it. The consultancy work was inseparable from the outcome: understanding the field, defining the right equipment, and getting it into service. The full project is documented on our projects page.
How an engagement runs
- Technical assessment — we review the plant's condition, operational requirements, and technical challenges.
- Recommendations — a practical plan covering maintenance, spare parts, engineering, or customised solutions.
- Implementation support — technical teams, equipment supply, and operational guidance through execution.
- Continuous improvement — ongoing monitoring and iteration as the plant's behaviour changes.
Advice that stops at the report is half a service. We specify, source, and support through to delivery.
Connected services
Consultancy findings usually point somewhere concrete: a maintenance programme to restructure, or a component to source. Both are services we deliver directly — solar thermal operation and maintenance and spare parts supply for CSP plants — so recommendations do not have to be handed off to a third party to become real.
